Services for Newcomer Immigrants
As part of Hartford Public Library’s information hub for the community, The American Place connects newcomers with City services and resources to facilitate resettlement, education, and career transitions. We offer a robust Citizenship and English language program, including a unique after school English Academy for newcomer youth.
The American Place exists to provide immigrants with the knowledge necessary to attain a better life than that they left behind, to contribute to the nations growth and prosperity, and as vested citizens fully participate in the American democracy.
