Green Card Renewal/Replacement
The American Place at Hartford Public Library can assist you to renew or replace your Green Card. We provide either Technical Assistance or Legal Counseling.
Technical Assistance: If you choose Technical Assistance, a TAP staff member will enter the information exactly as you dictate it to them, to complete and file your application online or by post. Note: TAP support staff are NOT trained to give any legal advice or answer any questions about the Green Card renewal or replacement process. Prior to your appointment, please read the Green Card renewal /replacement instructions below before requesting assistance.
Technical Assistance costs are $55 and you will be asked to sign a Liability Waiver Form.
Legal Assistance: If you choose Legal Assistance, you will be able to sit down with an attorney or certified legal representative to discuss your case before completing and submitting your application. Note: The attorney or certified legal representative has the right to decline your request to file the application.
Legal Assistance: costs are $100 in addition to the USCIS filing fee $540.
